Why do kids need to be adjusted too?
Many parents are aware of the benefits of chiropractic care for themselves, but they may not know that their children can also benefit from regular chiropractic adjustments. Chiropractic is a natural and gentle way of improving the health and function of the nervous system, which controls every aspect of the body.
Here are some of the reasons why chiropractic care is good for kids:
Chiropractic adjustments can help with common childhood issues such as colic, ear infections, asthma, allergies, bedwetting, and more. These conditions are often caused or aggravated by misalignments in the spine that interfere with the proper nerve flow. By correcting these misalignments, chiropractic can restore the normal function of the immune system and other organs, and reduce inflammation and pain.
Chiropractic can support the optimal growth and development of children. The spine is the foundation of the body, and it undergoes many changes during childhood. From learning to crawl, walk, run, and play, to carrying heavy backpacks and sitting for long hours at school, children’s spines are exposed to various stresses and strains. Chiropractic care can help your child maintain a healthy alignment of the spine and help to prevent problems such as scoliosis, poor posture, and chronic pain later in life.
Adjustments can enhance the performance and well-being of children. Children who receive regular chiropractic care tend to have better concentration, memory, mood, sleep, and energy levels. They also have fewer injuries, infections, and sick days. Chiropractic can help children reach their full potential in academics, sports, and other activities.

What does a chiropractic adjustment look like for a child?
Adjustments vary depending on the age and preference of the child! Infants and babies (yes, they need to be adjusted too!) use VERY light pressure and without the clicks and pops. Toddlers and younger kids, usually prefer use of the Activator. Older kids and teens will have lighter force than a typical manual adjustment, but can still hear and feel the clicks and pops.
